So, I'm finally getting around to blogging ...

I'm finally getting around to blogging ...

For starters, we're three months into the long wait for TTB to approve our Golden CO distillery's permit.

We're almost ready to go to market ...

REDUX Absinthe has won a medal in our third major competition this year, the International Wine and Spirits Competition (www.iwsc.net). This is one of the largest and oldest spirits competitions in the world. I would have preferred gold, or at least silver (who wouldn’t), but three bronze medals in three different major international competitions does prove that our Absinthe is a world-class product. Now for the hard part, getting it to market. Stay tuned.

REDUX Absinthe has taken a Bronze Medal at this year's International Spirits Challenge.

REDUX was the only Absinthe to be awarded any medal this year, and no Absinthe has ever been awarded anything higher then a Bronze at this competition.

What I don't know is how many other Absinthe's were entered, or who they were.

I did ask, and all the folks at the International Spirits Challenge would tell me was that "You did very well in a tough category … the only Absinthe to win a medal - Congratulations".

Regardless, this is the second competition we've entered with REDUX Absinthe and we've won another medal.

Of course, I would have preferred Gold … but as I said last month when we took a Bronze at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition, it’s a good result, and it means that "The Trade" likes what we're doing with REDUX Absinthe.

I've still got a lot of work to do to get REDUX Absinthe fine tuned and into full production, but I think we're headed in the right direction.

Well, the Maison De La Vie "village distillery" project continues to move forward at a snails pace … but we are moving forward.

This past weekend REDUX Absinthe was awarded a Bronze Medal at this year's San Francisco World Spirits Competition.

The formula of the sample submitted is still a "distillers proof" … It's a good result for our first public tasting.

As for the distillery itself … our plans to build a distillery in North East Ohio have now been scrapped as I will be relocating to the Denver area over the next year for family reasons.

My stills are in storage and will remain there until we can move them to Colorado and build and license a distillery there.
In the mean time REDUX Absinthe will go into production hopefully within the next few months at either a distillery in Michigan that we have a letter of intent with, or at distillery in France that we're in discussions with …. if the latter happens, Maison De La Vie will pursue a license as an importer, and will likely import other tasty libations along with our own product in the near future as well.

As soon as I figure out where we'll be producing I'll continue improving the formula and processes for REDUX on the production stills we'll be using.

In the mean time we're working on the web-site as well, adding a lot of content and information … ultimately including a distiller's library and an area where we'll be making small quantities of Antique distillation equipment available for purchase. So please check back at
www.village-distillery.com or www.redux-absinthe.com from time to time.

More to follow …
